MAG portal FAQ
MAG portal, MAG device, MAG portal test, MAG cihaz and package questions.
What is a MAG portal?
A MAG portal is the server address your Infomir MAG device loads at boot. You enter it once under Settings → Servers → Portals. After that, the MAG device boots straight into the portal interface. mag-portal.com issues and supports that MAG portal for the full MAG device range, from MAG 254 to MAG Aura.
How does the free MAG portal test work?
Message us on WhatsApp with your MAG device model (for example MAG 254, MAG 256 W2 or MAG 424w3). We issue a short MAG portal test so you can confirm boot, EPG and streaming on your own MAG device before you choose a package. No card is required to start the MAG portal test.
Which MAG devices are compatible?
The MAG portal is built for Infomir MAG devices: MAG 250, MAG 254, MAG 256 / 256 W1 / 256 W2, MAG 257, MAG 270, MAG 275, MAG 322 / 322 W1, MAG 324, MAG 349, MAG 351, MAG 352, MAG 410, MAG 420, MAG 424 / 424w3, MAG 425A, MAG 520 / 520w3, MAG 522w3, MAG 524 / 524w3, MAG 540, MAG 544 and MAG Aura. If your MAG device is not listed, send the model on WhatsApp.
Does MAG portal still support MAG 254?
Yes. MAG 254 remains one of the most common MAG devices in the UK and US, and the MAG portal is tuned so the 254 can boot a full portal without being treated as a throwaway box. We still recommend MAG 254 owners start with the MAG portal test so you can see the interface on the actual hardware.
What is a MAG device?
A MAG device is an Infomir set-top box designed to load a MAG portal over HDMI. Unlike a generic Android stick, a MAG device boots a Linux (or MAG Android) portal environment: one URL, one interface, a remote that matches the box. MAG 254 defined that habit for a decade; later MAG devices added Wi-Fi, HEVC and 4K while keeping the same MAG portal workflow.
How do I activate MAG portal on my MAG device?
On most MAG devices: Settings (the gear) → System settings → Servers → Portals. Paste the MAG portal URL we send, save, then reboot. MAG 250–275, MAG 322–352 and MAG 4xx/5xx families follow the same path with small menu wording differences. The trial page walks through it; WhatsApp can confirm the exact screen for your MAG device.
What MAG portal packages are available?
Five MAG portal terms: 1 month £30, 3 months £40, 6 months £50, 12 months £60 (limited quantity) and 24 months £100 (limited quantity). Every package includes MAG device setup help. Start with a free MAG portal test, then pick a term on WhatsApp.
Why are 12 and 24 month MAG portal plans limited?
Longer MAG portal terms are capped so we can keep line quality stable for MAG devices already on the network. When the 12-month (£60) or 24-month (£100) MAG portal allotment is gone, those plans pause until capacity opens. The MAG portal test and shorter packages remain available.
Can I use MAG portal in 4K on MAG 424, MAG 520 or MAG Aura?
Yes, when the MAG device is a 4K model (MAG 349 and newer UHD MAG devices, including MAG 424w3, MAG 520w3, MAG 524w3, MAG 540, MAG 544 and MAG Aura) and your TV and network can sustain the stream. Older MAG devices such as MAG 254 and MAG 256 output Full HD. The MAG portal test is the honest check on your room, not a screenshot from ours.
How do I contact MAG Portal?
WhatsApp is the desk: +44 7482 904691. Use it for a MAG portal test, package questions, or a MAG device that will not take a portal URL. Replies come from the MAG portal team, not an automated chatbot.
Is MAG 425A (Android) supported?
MAG 425A is an Android MAG device. It can load a MAG-style portal application rather than the classic Linux portal screen. Tell us it is a MAG 425A when you request the MAG portal test so we send the matching instructions, not MAG 254 steps.
Is mag-portal.com the official Infomir shop?
No. MAG is a product line of Infomir. mag-portal.com is an independent MAG portal service for owners of MAG devices. We do not sell Infomir hardware; we activate and support the MAG portal those MAG devices load.
