MAG 520 is current-generation 4K MAG hardware. The MAG portal should feel native, not like a MAG 254 skin stretched over 4K.

Infomir’s 5xx MAG devices exist so 4K MAG portal use is ordinary. MAG 520 (wired) and MAG 520w3 (Wi-Fi 5) share portal grammar with MAG 522w3, MAG 524 and MAG 540.
If you are replacing MAG 254, MAG 520 is a real MAG device upgrade: same remote logic, television-sized picture. Start MAG portal test on day one.
