The MAG 250 predates the MAG 254 that later became the default MAG device in Europe. It is a Linux set-top box with HDMI, a modest CPU and no built-in Wi-Fi. Many units survive in drawers because the remote still feels familiar and the MAG portal habit never left the household.
A MAG portal on MAG 250 should be light. We do not push 4K menus at a 250. The MAG portal test is how you confirm the box can still authenticate, list categories and hold a Full HD stream on your wiring — not on a bench in another country.
If you are choosing a new MAG device, MAG 254 or MAG 256 W2 is the practical upgrade from MAG 250. If you are keeping the 250, send the model on WhatsApp and we will issue MAG portal credentials that match this generation.

Settings → Servers → Portals → paste the MAG portal URL → save → reboot MAG 250.
